Therapies to Help Your Child Move, Grow and Thrive
Physiotherapy, aquatic physiotherapy, DMI and post-surgical rehab, tailored to your child’s unique needs.
Physiotherapy
I support babies, children and young people up to 18 years old with a wide range of physical, developmental and neurological needs.
Drawing on extensive training and clinical experience, I use a variety of therapeutic approaches tailored to each child and family.
My work is holistic and family-centred, with a focus on building strength, coordination, mobility and confidence - always through fun, meaningful activities that naturally fit into everyday life.
As children grow, their needs can change quickly. That’s why I prioritise getting to know each child deeply and monitoring progress closely, so therapy can be adjusted at the right time to support their wellbeing.
Post-Operative Therapy
Helping babies, children and young people recover safely and confidently after surgery.
I work with children following procedures such as Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR), orthopaedic surgeries (including tendon lengthening, hip reconstruction or spinal surgery), and other complex operations.
Using a combination of therapeutic approaches, tailored exercises and goal-focused activities, I support each child to rebuild strength, improve mobility and balance, and regain confidence in their body.
DMI
Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI) is an intensive, hands-on therapy used to support the development and recovery of motor skills in babies and children with neurological or developmental conditions. It’s an evidence-informed approach designed to strengthen the brain and nervous system by creating new motor pathways.
DMI focuses on postural control, balance and functional movement, using carefully guided exercises that actively challenge your child - rather than simply supporting them passively. Through graded movements and precise positioning, your child is encouraged to initiate, control and refine their own movement.
This approach can help improve strength, coordination, balance and overall independence. Every child is different, so the specific exercises used will be tailored to their individual needs and abilities.
Early Intervention
Early support for babies and young children during the most important stages of development.
I provide targeted, evidence-based physiotherapy from birth, with a particular focus on babies born prematurely or those who have experienced early neurological injury.
The brain is most adaptable in the first few years of life - a window of time when physiotherapy can make a significant difference. By supporting motor development early on, we can help lay the foundation for strong, healthy movement patterns that support long-term function and confidence.
Aquatic Physiotherapy
Aquatic physiotherapy uses the unique properties of water to support movement, strength and confidence in babies, children and young people with physical, developmental or neurological needs.
Water reduces the effects of gravity, allowing for freer movement, making it possible to practise skills that may be difficult or tiring elsewhere. This can be especially valuable for children who struggle with mobility, muscle tone or coordination, giving them the chance to move more independently and build strength safely.
Sessions are playful and engaging, using games and purposeful activities to encourage active participation rather than passive support. As your child becomes more comfortable in the water, we can introduce more targeted exercises to develop balance, core stability and functional movement patterns.
