I have worked as a paediatric physiotherapist for almost fifteen years. Whether I have worked in more general settings such as the community or schools, or within a speciality within a children’s hospital, I have always taken pride in my approach to learn about and understand a child as the young person I see in front of me. The likes, the dislikes, the unique personality and their own ideas on how to play, engage and interact with those around them.
I don’t feel that any child fits into a ‘box’, very rarely does one single approach work effectively for a child. I work creatively, think outside of the ‘box’ and often draw on a whole range of experiences and approaches. Some children have been given a diagnosis. Some children haven’t. Some conditions are really well known about. Some aren’t so well known about. You will notice that I haven’t given a list of paediatric conditions that as a physiotherapist I could treat. I would like to do things a little differently.
I would like to offer a virtual appointment as an initial consultation. This would give me the chance to hear your story, to give you the opportunity to tell me all about your child. Their needs, their challenges, their dreams and your aspirations for them. From here, we can identify how I can support your child going forward, putting physiotherapy support into your life, in the way that you feel it would benefit you most.
